Since I’ve been frantically preparing for Baby Selfish, Mr. Selfish has taken on the responsibility of finishing up our 2014 trip reports, which was fine with me. But, then the other day, I heard someone refer to this blog as “Mr. Selfish’s blog.” So, here I am, back to writing trip reports. There’s no way that this blog is Mr. Selfish’s blog!
The main reason that I wanted to visit Greece was to bask in the views of Santorini. I’ve never seen a bad photo of Santorini, and after having been there, I must admit that it is difficult to take a bad photo of it.
There isn’t much to do around Santorini other than walk around and enjoy how beautiful it is. Not that I’m complaining; it’s truly beautiful.
There are just so many photo ops.
In fact, one of the few attractions in Santorini is the sunset. According to Trip Advisor, it’s the #3 thing to do there.
However, be forewarned that it gets mighty crowded during sunset. Practically every tourist (with their massive tripods) on the island is trying to take that photo of the sunset. So I would get there early to stake out a spot. Plus, the further you walk down the steps, the easier it will be to take a shot. Fighting the crowds is worth it though. The sunset was spectacular!
Tomorrow, I’ll go over Amoudi Bay, which is down the steps from the main tourist drag of Santorini.

Hi Kyle and Christine,
Thank you for a wonderful blog! I really enjoy reading it. It’s very well written, informative and entertaining. I came across it while reseaching Kurokawa Onsen, which I plan to go next October after a Greece trip in May/June next year. Your info and photos are very useful and greatly appreciated. I love your “Best of” and “33 Things learned” too.
Look forward to reading your next post! Please keep writing …
Thanks for the lovely comment and encouragement! We’re glad that you enjoy the blog. Happy holidays!
